The purpose of this study is to collect and analyze data associated with lessons learned from the 2016 Gatlinburg wildfires. The study used face-to-face and telephone interviews with those who had firsthand knowledge and experience with the Gatlinburg wildfires, such as business owners; federal, local, and state officials; residents; tourists; faith-based community leaders; and non-English-speaking populations.
